A perfectly focused and well defined portrait of Jackie Robinson, who would win the National Leagues M.V.P. during the 1949 campaign, batting a whopping .342 with 124 RBI's and 122 Runs scored, an astounding 46 points higher than the previous season of 1948. It seems that In the Spring of 1949, Robinson would seek help from Hall of Famer George Sisler, working now as an advisor to the Dodgers, for hitting advice. At Sisler's suggestion, Robinson spent hours at a batting tee, learning how to hit the ball to the opposite field. Sisler taught Robinson to always anticipate a fastball, on the basis that it is easier to adjust to a slower curveball. Robinson also said that "Sisler showed him how to stop lunging at the ball, and how to check his swing at the last second". A Fiery Image of this American Icon is highlighted by an Uninterrupted Blood Red Background, Original Mint corners, and fresh Ivory white cardstock. No Doubt, one of the finest examples of this Important Card I've ever seen. A Mint 9 Blazer of the highest degree!
